About this studio
Cumana is a capoeira and dance school in the Kerameikos neighbourhood of Athens, founded in early 2012. It grew out of the long-running Banzo de Senzala capoeira tradition that previously operated on Iera Odos, while broadening its scope to include other movement disciplines. Alongside capoeira for beginners and advanced students, the roughly 240 m2 studio hosts contemporary dance, classical ballet and yoga, and regularly stages guest workshops with international contemporary-dance artists.

Newcomers of all levels are welcome. The studio runs a regular weekly programme of classes plus frequent weekend workshops led by visiting choreographers and dancers; reservations are typically required and can be made by phone or by emailing info@cumana.gr.
