About this studio
Fred Astaire Dance Studios – Houston Heights is a ballroom and social dance studio at 1051 Heights Blvd., Suite 230, Houston, TX 77008 (operated locally as Apollo Arts LLC). Part of the international Fred Astaire Dance Studios network, it teaches both International and American Ballroom styles to students of every age and ability, from complete beginners to competitive dancers.
The studio covers the full range of partnership dances — including waltz, tango, cha-cha, rumba, foxtrot, swing, salsa, mambo, and merengue — as well as wedding-dance preparation and country/club social dancing. Its stated mission is for students to dance "for the fun of it," building confidence, energy, and enjoyment.
Through Fred Astaire's proprietary curriculum, students also gain access to an in-studio and online dance store and to Regional, National, and International Pro-Am and amateur competitions.
What to expect
Your first visit
New students can start with one of two intro offers: an $85 "Essentials" package (2 private lessons, 1 practice party, and a pair of shoes) or a $20 "Try It Out" package (3 group lessons). Instruction blends private lessons, group lessons, and practice parties so students can apply new skills in a casual group setting.
