About this studio
Jump & Jive is an Athens-based swing dance school (the Athens Swing Team) dedicated to the vintage African-American jazz dance tradition. The studio has been teaching since the mid-2010s and centers its community around Lindy Hop and the wider family of swing-era dances, paired with an active blog that explores jazz dance history, choreography, and social-dance culture.
The teaching program spans a broad range of styles: Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz, Boogie Woogie, Blues, Shag, Shuffle/NeoSwing, and Aerials, alongside dedicated children's and teen classes (Swing Kids) and Creative Dance for babies and young kids.
