About this studio
Tumbao Salsa School is Scotland's premier Cuban Salsa school, based in Glasgow. The name 'Tumbao' means style, swing, sexiness and swagger all wrapped into one, and that energy defines the school's approach. World-champion instructors guide students from the essentials of Cuban Salsa all the way to advanced level in a friendly, nurturing, fun-loving environment.
Maestra Farah Portela introduced authentic Cuban Salsa to Glasgow more than 21 years ago (around 2005), and the school has since helped make the city one of the best places in the UK to learn and dance Cuban salsa.
Beyond classes, Tumbao runs regular Latin club nights at Glasgow's Boteco and Mango venues, and even films and produces music videos for leading Salsa bands, including Los Van Van.

Your first visit
Newcomers are welcomed into Tumbao's 'Cuban salsa family.' Weekly classes run at Boteco (62 Trongate, Glasgow G1 5EP) — for example, Mondays at 7 PM for Beginners Level Two.
